Religion and ethics

NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.

At our school parents/carers are able to choose Protestant Scripture based on the Anglican curriculum.

Special Religious Education(SRE) is held once a week and is taught by Marian James from Frenchs Forest Anglican Church.

Marian has a long association with Arranounbai.  For many years, Marian was a parent at the school.  She has been teaching SRE at Arranounbai for over 30 years.

The SRE class is 20 minutes long and consists of a number of songs and a short talk or story.

SRE is held in classrooms over Zoom.  Marion presents the lesson over Zoom from a different classroom each week.

Students whose parents elect not to participate in SRE will be engaged with meaningful activities at the back of their classroom.

A parent/carer may at any time notify the school in writing that they wish to change their decision.  Students will continue the same arrangement as the previous year, unless a parent/carer has requested a change in writing.  All classes are supervised by Arranounbai School teachers.
