Bright and comfortable classrooms

At Arranounbai School, our classrooms are calm, friendly, and welcoming places where every student feels safe and supported. Designed for children with disabilities, each room uses flexible layouts, visual aids, and clear routines to build confidence and independence. Teachers follow proven programs from the NSW Department of Education curriculum, adapting lessons to suit each student’s strengths and communication style. Classrooms have fun tools, special resources, and assistive technology to help everyone enjoy learning. Teachers, therapists, and support staff work together to help students reach their goals. We create a happy, inclusive space where every child can grow and succeed.

Sensory and wellbeing spaces

We offer a variety of sensory and wellbeing spaces designed to support the individual needs of our students. Our facilities include a calming light room, an engaging sensory gym, and a dedicated wellbeing room—each providing a safe and nurturing environment to promote comfort, relaxation, and overall wellbeing.

Technology and devices

At Arranounbai School, technology is a big part of how we help students learn, communicate, and become more independent. We use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices and switches to help students share their thoughts and join in learning in ways that work best for them. Every classroom has a CleverTouch Smart Board, where teachers use pictures, videos, sounds, and interactive activities to make lessons exciting. Students can also use iPads and school laptops to support their communication and learning. Technology is also a key part of our STEM activities, where students get to solve problems, be creative, and explore new ideas through hands-on experiences. By using technology in smart ways, we make learning fun, interactive, and easy for everyone.

Outdoor spaces for fitness and play time

The courtyard is a bright, welcoming space at the heart of the school, created for all students to enjoy. It’s a safe area where students can play, move, or take a break whenever they need. The soft synthetic lawn and pathway, designed to look like a small road, are flat and easy to walk on, making it accessible for everyone, including those who use wheelchairs. Shade covers keep it comfortable all year round. Swings, a roundabout, and a built-in trampoline provide fun and sensory experiences. Colourful artwork brightens the walls, creating a cheerful and creative atmosphere. Benches throughout let students relax or spend time with friends. With classrooms opening into the courtyard, it’s easy for students to step outside, recharge, and return ready to learn.
