Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Dr Jordan visit
In 2025, Arranounbai has the privilege of welcoming Dr Jordan Nguyen, a biomedical engineer and inventor whose work is dedicated to improving the lives of those living with physical disabilities. On his visit, Dr Jordan brought along his friend Koobo, a robot designed to provide conversation and companionship, Arranounbai students revelled in meeting a real-life robot! Some students also had the chance to test out the prototype for Dr Jordan's new and state of the art eye gaze device, the advancement of this technology is exceptionally promising.
Bear Cottage superhero day
Superhero Day is another exciting and colourful event on our school calendar, and it is always celebrated with plenty of fun and enthusiasm! Students arrive dressed as their favourite superheroes, with bright costumes, masks, and capes filling the classrooms and playgrounds. While the day is a fantastic opportunity to dress up and celebrate, it also carries a very important purpose. Superhero Day is held as part of Bear Cottage’s Superhero Week, raising funds and awareness for the only children’s hospice in NSW. Our school community supports the cause through raffles, games, and other fun activities, with every dollar going towards helping families who need it most. Students not only enjoy the day but also contribute to such a meaningful cause. Together, we celebrate the values of kindness, generosity, and community spirit.

Book Week
Book Week is always a highlight for both students and staff! The excitement begins as students prepare their costumes, inspired by their favourite book characters. On the day of our parade, the school assembly fills with colourful costumes, big smiles, and plenty of creativity. Students proudly walk the stage to showcase their chosen characters, from magical wizards and superheroes to cheeky animals and classic fairytale favourites. Events like Book Week spark imagination and foster a lifelong love of reading, while also giving students the opportunity to celebrate stories that inspire them. It is a joy to see how much effort students and families put into creating fun and imaginative costumes. Book Week continues to be a memorable and meaningful celebration of books, stories, and creativity.
